My uncle owned a beer joint in Houston and blacks were not welcome even though it was never said, it was understood, I remember in early Hi School when my dad met an African American friend who was leaving the house from a few hours of playing "electric football" (anyone member that game...hehe) and I was told..."I dont want that nigger in this house ever again".......I Remember.......

No matter what the gun toting bible thumping closed minded rednecks believe, you are on the way out. Moreover, you will no longer effect this countries decisions on life, love, happiness and our inalieneable freedoms. You are a minority now (check the Senate and House votes).

Friday Night Lights is BACK !!!!

But you must have DirectTV till @ least till February when it will premiere back on NBC. DirectTV has a channel called "The 101", hence its on channel #101 that is running Friday Night Lights every Wednesday evening and rerun throughout the week. DirectTv is paying for the majority of the production costs in exchange for first run viewing in accordance with NBC.
As a DirectTV subscriber for years now, its the greatest thing next to sliced bread, toast.....with butter and jelly ? ? ........
I have watched the premiere episode now 4 times and it does not get old.........

Things Will Never Be the Same........

Devastion comes in many forms, that flat tire on the way to work, traffic jams, loss of your job, loss of your mom, it's endless. Loss seems to be the paramount issue doesnt it ?
I am a big advocate of animals, pets as family members and that enduring love between you and your four-legged friends. I have asked you guys to seek out places and ways you can help, seek to aide in the effort to save an animal as there is no greater love, no man, no woman, no child that can match the love of your pet, it's unequaled in so many ways. Yesterday @ 723pm I held my baby Sixx while she died in my arms. I also held her big sister some 7 years ago so she could die, and it didnt get any easier this time.
After 17 years together it was like when I first held her. She'd paw @ me, meow, fuss and play, this time she had her paw on my face trying to meow, but it wouldnt come out. I think she knew a few nights ago when she crawled on my chest as I lay on the couch, even though it now took her 3 times to jump up, that she was not well. I cant count the times she jumped on my chest in bed, the couch, anywhere, she knew who her daddy was, but in this case her limited movement of late indicated she also knew she was dying. She had that look in her eyes, like "whats wrong with me daddy".

I realized a little while later that I had never taken that much time to take pics of her , and that is a travesty. Over 17 years of raising a baby kitten and I didnt have the sense to get more pictures, so I will include the last one I have. Its my baby, my friend, the one that no matter how bad things where, she was always there. Things wont be the same for a long time, if @ all.

As some of you know I have online friends and help with our family of sites, inclu this one. I was just informed that we switched it all over to a new PWwebring server, therefore responses or emails or going to be more4 difficult to respond to as they will filter thru a few diff sites befrore maybe ending up in our email basket. Erica is now handling all responses on this and other sites from which she will forward to my personal email as needed. I'll write and do the graphics, she handles the clerical. Be nice to her...LOL

Pants and Reality

Something I wrote awhile back..............................

A Tale of Queer Pants :
A number of yrs ago I was presented with a gift, a glorious bag filled with excitement. Upon removal of the contents my excitement was severely lessened to the point of…”WTF, this is awful”, of course under my breath. It seemed an upcoming event required different pants, different from my standard Levi denims, but did I need to turn queer? Ahhhh, the things men will do for females.
I fully realize and accept the fact she was just being nice, but this was atrocious. To the point of me wondering, “WTF do I need pants that have a name for?”…”WTF is Cargo?”
Yes folks, I was given Cargo pants. You know the ones with big ass pockets on the side of both legs and fukn flaps everywhere. Not to mention they are made to be 2-3 sizes to big.

Levi’s are simple, they are made to fade and fit better as you wear them. I have 2 pairs that are @ least 20yrs old, completely torn or tearing, re-stitched@ the cleaners and re-stitched some more. Of course I have others that are newer, but nonetheless they are just JEANS!!…. They are a simple yet powerful statement of simplicity and style. I realize there are different models…i.e. 501, 550, etc, but ultimately they are still just JEANS. 2 front pockets, 2 back pockets and maybe a lil watch pocket.

I reluctantly wore these new-fangled pants for this event, and could not wait to take them off. They hung in my closet for close to 2yrs before I even remembered they were there.
Folks, I’m happy to say, I now have 3 pairs of the queer pants hanging in my closet, 1 a cool blue jean denim, an odd color denim and of course the original gift which are all positioned next to the Levi’s. They now have a prominent place next to the Levi’s along with the gift and the giver.

An Explanation :
Sometimes a man’s mind doesn’t ever venture to the “what if” factor of life, the refusal to face facts, the what will I do if scene, the time when thoughts are forced to turn to things no one dare think about, the refusal to face reality on life’s terms comes too late and you are forced to confront what it’s really like to be lost inside with eyes wide open to the outside you never saw. Possibilities are endless, passports are easy, but possibilities will never make up for what you leave and lose. Will it go away in time, or do you imbibe 24/7 to forget ?

I have been away from here for many reasons, the least of which moving back and forth as usual, but most importantly the loss of my dear mother. The prototypical Baptist Christian widow woman, who with all her faults from my childhood to the present has left me with many realizations of what it’s like to be completely without family.

I thank all of you for the emails that asked what was up, and so on. I was not in the mood to respond and I apologize.

DIVERSIONS 2the POINT of IGNORANCE :
Our minds are occupied with an online exsistence, IPods, Xboxes, 200+ TV channels and everything associated with our way of life now, if you do not want to there is no need to ever have to watch, read or learn ANYTHING outside of entertainment. There is always something to take your mind away from what goes on outside your front door. You don't have to know a thing, moreover you don't have to care because you always have something to keep you occupied. Your news coverage should'nt come from MTV, your learning about the world goes much much farther than your local 5pm newscast (check out the owners of your fav local news station and you can easily find out how the information you are given is heavily slanted). Do you even know what channel CNN is on in your area? How often to you p/u a newspaper or search a news website?

Too many people are complacent with the activities of this embarrasing administration by associating the questioning of government with being unpatriotic. I simply don't think people are even noticing the travesty of what is going on in Washington. Unless you are able to read the NY Times (the newspaper of record) or 1 of the other major dailies in the country, you will find that most war/government related info is slowly being pushed back page after page to where most don't even see it (check out the owners of your local paper and you can easily find out how the information you are given is heavily slanted). I recently noticed -visiting city unamed- that the tally of the dead was on page 10 !!! No1 cares that our phones are taped, No1 cares that they are changing the rules as they go along to protect their inept decisions, No1 cares that NOTHING has changed in Iraq since day 1, No1 cares that a year prior to 9/11 and the subsequent start of the Iraq war that they were already planning it by planting information to tilt the views, No1 cares that the USA has tortured uncharged and unprosecuted prisoners for years, No1 cares that this administration has refused to co-operate with investigations into it's wrong doing, No1 cares that "The Decider" still thinks he is a king, No1 cares that 3606 unemployed people in search of a paycheck have died for absolutely no reason and more and more sign up everyday looking for a way out of poverty, No1 seems to be smart enuff to notice that without the administrations constant implied scare tactic of fear none of this would be allowed.....The list goes on and on................


The tellale fact that caught my eye this weekend was the fact that 41% of Americans STILL think Iraq had something to do with 9/11, which is a severe testament to the ignorance of the American people and proves that no1 reads anymore.

In the heyday of other wars that I don't member, specifically the Vietnam 60's and 70's, people only had 3 TV channels, so besides radio, that was the limit to what you had to occupy your time so you could'nt hide with earbuds, video game and remote. You could'nt help but get involved or care as it was in your face all day everyday. People protested, they raised hell to make a difference or to @ least express an opinion. Whether they cared for real or just got tired of hearing about it and had to act, I don't know, but @ least people learned what was really going on by getting involved.

Me thinks DIVERSIONS have caused severe complacency..................

I have spoken many times about pet adoption and the dire need of aiding in animal health and welfare. What I find interesting about what I'm reading on blogs and the like is that there are a lot of people that are either stupid or igorant to the world around them. This kind of age difference, while not heavily publicized, unless it's a teacher getting caught with a student. This is not the case here as he quit teaching. So it is not that out of the norm. Moreover...I once again, am appalled @ folks who just assume that a 16yo is incapable of making adult decisions....ie in 2 years she gets smarter? A 16yo in 2007 is VERRRRRRRY different than a 16yo in 1997, they are more knowledgeable, more sexual (see any chat room or messenger) and generally smarter than people 3 times their age. Blame it on MTV, the internet, TV, whatever the fuk, it's just a fact. So let's not paint her as some 16yo virgin who has been abused and tricked. I'll admit the whole thing is sorta odd, and some will always blame the rents, but a little research will show you it does happen.

I'll be the 1st to admit I'm a real TVphile. I sometimes dont care whts on or wht its about, I just like ALL of TV, including mindless shows that involve a cast of hotties !! Come on guys, you know you are more apt to watch a show if there are good lookin girls in it. Iv mentioned this find b4 and as time has passed it's becoming more addictive, that being DAYTIME SOAP OPERAS !!!. 2b more clear, there are 2 that I'm now glued to via it's daily airing or DVR, VHS, etc...really whatever is available as I just dont miss em. This is some info I have read about and accumulated based on different states criminal justice systems. The Innocence Project based in NY is a non-profit legal clinic and criminal justice resource center that basically researches criminal convictions that the individual states refuse to do. Most states decide that when you are proven guilty, YOU ARE GUILTY, no if's ands or but's......as it would seriously hamper the future abilty to obtain convictions if states were forced to admit they made a mistake and convicted the wrong person, so whatever judgements they decide stand until someone proves them wrong.
STATS TO CONSIDER

• 185 previously convicted people in 32 states have been cleared via DNA evidence. Some after spending decades on death row
• In Texas alone, The leader of death row killings, 12 people have had their convictions overturned in just 2 years

This is based on records that have only been kept in the last few years, think about people convicted long before DNA was ever a piece of the picture. Just how many "I didn't do it" statements are really true ? 20 yrs ago DNA wasnt used in trials and wasnt widely available, so how many folks do you think are in prison or on death row or that are already dead that shouldn't be ?

WTF is up with these folks that are so weak that they need to justify their lives by finding not only a religious crutch, but something that they must touch or see to continually make it seem more real ?? THIS MAKES ME SAD :

I consider my self pretty well versed on television, television shows, how they operate and the industry in general, I may not watch every show on TV, but I damn sure have read about in some form, so with that I'm fully aware that shows come and go, and most of the time it's based on viewership. I'm aware that if people do not watch, a show goes away. What I don't understand is why a simple reduction of a few million people causes a show to be cancelled.

2morrow is a day that I have dreaded for the past coupla months........The O.C. is ending is 4yr run.

This is 1 of the few shows that I can say no matter where I was, what state, what time zone, what place.....I NEVER MISSED AN EPISODE. In it's 4yrs on TV it spawned 6 CD's with some GREAT music that broke alot of bands. It also was the direct reason that MTV reality show(?) about Orange County ever came to be. A first year high of 10 mill viewers a week, now down to barely 3 mill a week has resulted in yet another cancellation of simply as cool TV show. Happy Chrismukkah Ryan, Seth, Summer, Taylor and Marissa !!!

HOW COME IT'S THIS WAY :
After finishing a recent newspaper article this topic is fresh on my mind and most of you that read are fully aware of the constant bombardment that we hear about dealing with the uninsured children of this nation. No matter your state, It seems there is someone proposing new laws or more and more programs to help children gain the otherwise lacking medical coverage. Now, I’m not advocating that children be denied anything or possibly dying of a heinous illness due to lack of medical coverage, nor should this apply to catastrophic cases such as Cancer or other debilitating diseases, but how come no one is asking the obvious questions when this topic comes up?
Why are couples or singles having children that they can’t cover with their own insurance? Didn’t someone explain that birthing a child will cost a fortune for 18yrs and it will NOT keep you two together? I feel my opinion covers the gamut on this issue as I have seen it from both ends. I have lived with single moms who had kids (gotta luv a single mom, as you know they are reckless about opening their legs…LOL), I have been in lengthy discussions with partners about having kids, I have even been involved in an unplanned pregnancy (Thank You Michelle for that secret abortion I didn’t know about), plus I have talked to many single moms and got their opinions, so I think I’ve seen it from every area. Most importantly, I have also rationalized on paper to a partner that disregarding the costs from conception to birth, there are 18yrs of COSTS that do not include medical insurance.
For every couple or single mom that’s refuses to abort or place for adoption based on the age old “I don’t believe in that”, there ought to be a national release form that the parent(s) must agree to and sign, that releases all 50 states from any liability in paying for the child including that I have chosen to birth this child with full knowledge of all costs, mayb we could include a mathematical graph of projected costs of raising this child for the next 18yrs along with the person or persons projected income based on their present vocation. If they still chose to birth the child, they are on their own. Furthermore, if you can’t pay for the complete hospital costs for the birth, the baby stays there till you can. Possibly including daily storage fees.
This would prevent any parent from later claiming no one will support my child or give me insurance. It would also open the eyes to some truly ridiculous notions that its OK to have kids just cause you want one. Let one kid starve or lose it’s health based on lack of insurance then put it all over the national news and this epidemic would stop.
I may not evr have kids, but I’ll be practicing till I’m bowlegged and sore…LOL, and if I don’t that’s ok, if I do, then I’ll have the proper reinforcement there, including insurance.

5) If either of you are Caucasian but perpetually speak black while wearing a sideways baseball cap (I believe the term is whigga), or have EVER used the term “Yana wha I’m sayin”…NO CHILD FOR YOU…. EVER, furthermore no MTV for you EVER

This is 2007 and birth control has been around many years so therefore I ask, “How do you get pregnant”? THIS IS GETTING OUT OF HAND :
While this may mean nothing to New Yorkers who are paying upwards to 6.00 -7.00 per pack(?), but effective January 1, 2007 an extra tax on cigarettes will go into effect in the State of Texas. This was voted on by the legislature some many months ago in order to help fund various needs i.e. child welfare office issues, etcetc. It seems certain kids were slipping through the cracks of the agency and certain abuses of children were going unnoticed, unpunished etc. While I’m all for keeping kids safe from abusive parents, it just seems odd that we/they/them are using cigarette smokers as the taxing base once again. I’m not aware of other states regulations or rules, but this Sin Tax as it’s called really needs to stop. Every pack will go up 1.00 and every carton 10.00, which will place the non generic cigarettes, namely Marlboro @ about 4.50 a pack, tho I expect alotta sales in the beginning, it is still going to be a monetary hassle.
Realizing the negative health effects of smoking is a problem for some, so is the negative effects of obese/fat people eating fast food everyday. Where are the extra taxes on fast or bad food? Where are the extra taxes on alcohol (though I’d not like that one much either)? The extra cost has proven to not be a real deterrent to people quitting smoking, so I just don’t get it.
You may not like smoking or smokers, which is fine, but you have to see where this isn’t fair to constantly zero in on smokers whn state $ is needed.

While I try ot keep this site light-hearted and as apolitical as I can, sometimes things just get to me.....Like the constant issue of animal care in this country. As I peruse various city, news and newspaper sites I am constantly bombarded with animnal shelters having troubles...ie over crowding, and kill or no-kill, etc. When no1 will say whats really going on. PEOPLE ARE TOO LAZY OR TOO CHEAP TO SPAY/NEUTER THEIR ANIMALS and THEY DONT KEEP THEM INDOORS or IN YARDS AND SAFE. Every1 dances round the issue as not to offend or be PI.
Lets face it....you rarely see stray dogs or animals running loose in the nice neighborhoods in America, its always poor folks who have trouble feeding themselves let alone feed or care for an animal but yet they ALWAYS have them.
Some cities are killing hundreds and thousands of dogs and cats yearly and most are those that are picked up from the street..........THIS SHOULD N O T BE !!!!

The kinda girl who looks so good that you feel ugly, plus she looked all of 15 standing there all pissed like I was sposd ta kno her and let her in. Turns out she was an old hi school friend of the waitress and NOT 15, but a legal 19….WOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOO…and she started crying the minute she walked in. It seems this angelic beauty did what lotsa dumb lil….“In love with her hi sch sweetheart, 1st real love ever or 1st time she ever came, got married @ barely 18”…girls do, and to make it worse, to a loser in the military…LOLOLOL. Except, the lil punk ass she married (not evn 19 yet…LOL) is in Iraq and just told her that he’s not coming back on leave, but going with a buddy to his hometown and that he’s got a new girl there and wants a divorce. DAMN this war, as my crotch expands @the possibilities………
She just needed a shoulder to cry on and I guess since the waitress knew them both in hi sch she was the 1st she thought of when she got the news. I kinda tried to butt out, cause I knew I’d ramble off some diatribe about “Why is some1 like you even talking to a lil boi like that in 1st place” kinda shit, so I stayed in and out ear shot as best I could.

Things settled and we all partook in the 420 and after a few drinks (gotta luv a girl that’ll drink @ 10am) things got better and she seemed to relax and realize that she made a mistake and was getting some legal advice from me (in another life I worked with or dealt with lawyers and am aware of certain divorce rights so I knew a little to help her get started)………….

To make a long story short, we all went to lunch and afterwards the waitress had classes so the rest of the day was mine/ours. I once again gotta hang/hook up or whatever you call it with a girl over ½ my age (Yea, I’m that cute) and she hopefully realized that you don’t mess with guys your age, if you truly wanna be treated right and want something long lasting……….…..
Nevertheless she expressed the urge to divorce ASAP and move back to her rents home over 100mi away, so I prolly wont see her much, but I’ll let you know.

Friday nite @ the video store and we are arguing what 2rent, something new, something different and frankly I’m more concerned with getting to the liquor store b4 9pm, so I’m verrrrry agreeable when there it was…. DAZED and CONFUSED. A true classic of epic proportions made in 80's and set in the 70’s the day of and after high school ends for the year and filmed in and around Austin, Texas. Think That 70’s Show with more adult situations….ie..sex, drugs and an amazing soundtrack, but with some amazingly thought provoking dialogue about life and dreams. It is very similar to The Breakfast Club, but much more raw and detailed. It follows a cast of then unknowns: Matthew McConaghey(his 1st movie), Ben Afleck, Joey Lauren Adams, Parker Posey and many faces you WILL recognize, through their first few days of summer vacation. RENT IT NOW ------- plus the DVD has lotsa cool xtra stuff.
It’ll make you laugh and generally feel good plus provide reminders of hi school now (if that applies to you) and what it was like (if that applies to you).............

WOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOO 23.00 dollars for doing nothing. Now I’m not one ta go scrounging for cash, but this was way way easy and when your bored and on a food run, ya gotta do sumpin ta occupy your time.

The Tradition Begins :
Years ago, while discussing the Dallas Cowboys with a guy that worked for me, we got into the nuances of devotion to a team. What it was like to grow up with the family ritual of sitting down on Sundays (then there were only NFL Sunday games), or having Thanksgiving dinner served around the Cowboy start time. Even before I understood anything about the game of football, I was still rooting for the blue & silver staring at a team on the screen, really just guys in cool uniforms, who all of the older folks seem to speak about with reverence, almost as if they knew them. It became ingratiated in me as child, something I will never let go.
My employee used a term that I will NEVER forget, one that best describes what a fan feels for his team. Simple, understated and basically sez it all....." BLEED BLUE "
Theres ALOT of folks that simply love to hate the Cowboys, which is most likely attributed to the fact that there was a decade when we were the most celebrated team on the planet, our mercandise sales dwarfed the rest of the NFL combined, etcetc....WE still rate at the top, if not very top in mercahndise, and from one end of the USA to the other, there are Cowboys fans, which is easily seen when EVERY teams sells out when the Cowboys come to town.

On September 17th @ 3:15 CST, the boys begin the season in Jacksonville, truly one the most anticipated moments in the last few months, sometimes as good as Beam, sometimes as good as pussy (well, I mean bad, lay there and not move pussy…LOL)............. IT’S THE DALLAS COWBOYS

This little bohemian bookstore slash Starbucks wannabe nearby, strangely enuff, stocks the daily papers from most major cities in Texas, so on occasion, I p/u my hometown rag and this past Sunday I got all embroiled in one of those “ Remembering Katrina ” stories which entailed specific pieces on certain refugees that are about to lose housing or that are living in shelters etcetc…………………
Well one girl’s piece interested me…it seems as a refugee from New Orleans she’s still in a local homeless shelter and 6 months pregnant. So far, seems pretty sad huh? ....MORE INFO : She’s 19, already has a 1yo child and HERES THE BEST PART…. her b/f is in the county jail !!!!!He can’t get work but he sure can violate a law and get thrown in jail.
Now wouldn’t ya think that since Katrina has made these folks homeless that one of the first things they would be wary of is having another mouth to feed? Especially since they ALREADY have a 1yo. This girl was all “tear in my beer” about having no clothes, no$, no job and nowhere to go BLAH BLAH BLAH. Frankly I’m a little brick walled whenever I come across ANY girl that surprisingly ends up pregnant, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME…Especially in this day and age when birth control is available @ free clinics all over the country.

Years ago while @ a political meet and greet, a single mom asked then Governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura, “Why won’t the state pay for my daycare while I try to go to work or college”, to which he responded…”Where’s the dad? And since he’s not involved why should this state pay for your bad decisions when you chose to sleep with someone that’s going to take off or not be involved” Someone should ask Lil Miss Katrina that same question……………………………..

SIDEBAR: Think the HOT HOT HOT Jessica “got my legs all fukd up in the Iraq war” Lynch, who has or maybe in this case had, a full 4yr education @ WV Univ given to her by the State of West Virginia and is ALREADY pregnant after 1 semester by one Wes Robinson.
